Lift up on the belt lock, located in the middle of the base. Push down on the middle part of the lock to open the plates.Open the LATCH storage drawer and remove the LATCH pieces. Close and lock the storage door.Thread the LATCH hooks through the left and right side of the belt opening. After reading all the horror stories about the company and how they waited to do recalls, I decided to to take a chance with my children's lives. I bought Britax Marathon seats for all my children (I have 3). A big investment, but well worth the peace of mind.No car seat manufacturer has been recall free, but I know that Britax immediately resolved their harness issues by being proactive.
